Welcome!

Dear Reader,
Hello and welcome to my virtual portfolio. My name is Alisha Earp and I'm outgoing, ambitious, and persistent. One word that describes me best is resilient. I was a foster child all my life and didn't grow up in the best environments but I didn't let that get in the way of my dreams. I am blessed to be currently a freshman at Rider University pursuing a major in Accounting and a minor in Criminal Justice. My goal is to become a prosecutor. It is known that becoming a lawyer is far from easy but I am willing to take that challenge. Law is my passion and with that said I aspire to attend grad school and earn my law degree to become the prosecutor of my dreams. I am determined to achieve the job of my dreams and quitting is not an option. I am more than happy that you are taking the time out to view my portfolio. You will read further on my educational experiences, work experiences and more information on the type of person I am. Thank you for showing interest in my portfolio.

Sincerely,
Alisha Pearl Earp

Letter of Intent

To Whom it May Concern,

This letter is to express my growing desire to gain an intern in a law firm. I am a freshman attending Rider University and I am very interested in the law field. I would like to be considered for an internship in an open position at a law firm.

At Rider University I am majoring in Accounting while pursuing a minor in Law & Justice with a specialization in Criminal Justice with aspirations to attend law school. I am experienced in an office setting such as being a filing clerk and running errands for positions higher than myself. I believe that I will attain useful knowledge in any intern that is offered to me. I am persistent and hard working when it comes to my passion.

My hard work and my reputation for being consistent and persistent will be a strength in my future intern. I believe I will be valuable to any law firm that considers me for the position of intern.

Sincerely,
Alisha Pearl Earp

Biography

I am currently a freshman at Rider University where I am majoring in Accounting and pursuing a minor in Law & Justice. I have a specialization in Criminal Justice. With my degree I plan on attending law school on pursuit to becoming a prosecutor in the court of law.

Growing up I literally had nothing to call my own and no one to actually depend on. I was a foster child in DYFS for thirteen years trying to make my way out the system. I found a way out the system mentally at a young age. I knew my only key to success was education. With education I can open many doors to my life. With my education, my unique personality and my ambition, I know I will make a great lawyer. Its my dream career and law is my passion. I always enjoyed watching court TV and movies involving trail cases. It interests me and I have known for a long time that I belong in the court as a prosecuting lawyer. My dreams are finally coming true because I am beginning the road to become a lawyer.

Thank you for reading my biography and hopefully you gained a better insight of who I am.

Resume

Here is my very first resume, Resume, it is a work in the making because I hope to gain much more experience throughout the rest of my college career. I hope to join clubs and I aspire to start up my own step team for Rider University. I want to attain several interns as an accountant and shadow a lawyer sometime in my junior or senior year of college. As I mentioned before, attending grad school is something I want to do without second thought and when that time comes, I will once again update my resume as well with the updates along the way.

Educational Writing Experience

Writing is one of my biggest strenghts. I enjoy composing research papers and comprehension papers. Here are two examples of writing of which I received A's from my current academic year at Rider University.

Bondage is a research paper about slavery in the early colonies and how it was a way of life in those days. It focuses on the time era of when the very first slaves came to America and how life was for them, and how life was for the masters as well.

Comparison is a comprehension paper based on all three of James McBride's novels. My class read all three of his novels and had to relate three of them in an essay. I chose the subject of skin color. In the essay you will read about how I interpreted what James McBride's thoughts were between African Americans and Caucasians.

Educational Creative Experience

I am currently taking Intro to Speech/Communications class and it allows to me to build my strenghths as a speaker and it allows me to be creative during my presentations. I am required to present speeches and give criticism on others. One of my favorite speeches was the persuasive speech. For my persuasuv speech, I attempted to persuade the audience to opt to adopt pets rather than go out and buy them. I love animals and I was very passionate about my topic.

Work Experience

Throughout my high school career I was employed at McDonald's. At McDonald's I was a crew member. As part of my job, I was required to take orders on both the counter and drive-thru. Also I ran orders for the counter and drive-thru. I prepared food on the grille, I washed dishes and cleaned and stocked the lobby for costumers. Working McDonald's helped me improve my communication skills because I was required to be able to talk to anybody no matter how mean customer was.

I am currently employed at Macy's. McDonald's prepared for Macy's. I am now able to communicate with customers and complete my tasks at a fast but effective pace. My job at Macy's include folding clothes, and delivering outstanding "star" customer service.

Step Team

In High School I was apart of my High School Step Team. It was called the Phillipsburg DYNASTY Steppers. The step team was more than a team, we were in essence a family. We raised money together, we competed together and we taught each other when another was confused or lost. I love stepping. As I mentioned before, I am striving to start up a step team for Rider University. It is a healthy sport that can get you in shape and builds one's acceptance for respect.
